Trafford MBC Recycling and Refuse Update 6 January 2010
Recycling and Refuse Update 6 January 2010
The recycling and refuse collection service will be suspended on Wednesday 6th January.
Residents whose refuse collections were due on either Tuesday 5th January or Wednesday 6th January are advised to take their grey bins in and present them for collection on the next scheduled collection date in accordance with the calendars that were recently distributed. If necessary, staff will take excess bagged waste on these days provided waste is presented appropriately in tied up sacks.
The green waste collection service will be suspended for at least the remainder of this week. This will allow for resources to be focused on the collection of blue and black bins once the service is in a position to recommence collections. Residents who were due to receive a recycling collection of the blue or black bin on Tuesday 5th or Wednesday 6th January are advised to leave the bin out for collection.
Residents who have real Christmas trees are advised to either place them in the green bin for the next available collection or use the Household Waste Recycling Centres on Sinderland Road, Broadheath or Chester Road, Stretford or use one of the Chrstmas tree recycling points detailed on the Council website. Further advice will be provided on the green waste collection service in due course.
Further updates will be provided daily and will be available for residents on the Council website at www.trafford.gov.uk. Recycling over Christmas and New Year
