Get involved in Play Day - 5 August 2009

Trafford is joining the rest of the country to celebrate this year's National Play Day - themed Make Time! -on Wednesday 5 August.

Lots of play and community groups, childminders and local children's centres have already started making plans for a day, or in some cases a week, of events, but the council wants to hear about more.

Any groups or individuals who are running a play day event are being encouraged to register it with Trafford's children and young people's service, so they can be featured in publicity in the run up to the day.

It doesn't matter if it's a teddy bears picnic for just a couple of children, a day trip out, a stroll round a local park or a street party, big or small, all events are important.

That's not all, groups running events can get a whole host of 'freebies' to help their day go with even more of a swing by logging on to www.playday.org.uk

So don't delay, if you've not already thought about play day, now's the time.  Let's all help make this year's event a great time for all local children.

To register an event just contact the children and young people's information service on 0161 912 1053 or e-mail CYPIS@trafford.gov.uk
