Trafford MBC Council's annual report 2007-08 published
Better exam results, cleaner streets, reducing crime and quality care for adults are just some of the achievements highlighted in the council’s annual report.

The report also outlines performance against the council’s six priorities and includes information on the council’s budgets and financial position.

Susan Williams, Leader of Trafford Council said:  “For the third year running we have made very real improvements in the quality of our services.

“And we are now one of the small number of councils who are judged to be improving strongly by government inspectors.

“We are delivering value for money, with more than £3m extra investment in highways whilst remaining a low cost council.

“We have listened to local people by keeping the weekly refuse collection whilst providing more opportunities to recycle more materials.

“There are a small number of areas where we have not achieved the level of improvements that we want and expect.

“We will continue the improvements in our services to so that Trafford Council continues to play its part in making Trafford one of the most desirable places in the country."

The council’s annual report can be found at www.trafford.gov.uk then go to council and democracy and Improving Trafford.
