Comedian to bring celebration to hilarious ending

Comedian and broadcaster Jon Holmes is set to end this years Wordfest 09 celebration in hilarious style at Sale Waterside Arts Centre in July.

Jon, the multi-award winning star of Radio 4's The Now Show and co-creator of the popular tv show Dead Ringers, will be entertaining the crowd with readings from his book of outrageous rock n'roll rumours on Friday 10 July at 7.30pm.

Jon Holmes has gathered together the greatest pop and rock myths and legends ever told. These stories have come straight from the mouths of those that were there, those that shouldn't have been there and those that were there for a bit but left early and only heard about it afterwards.

Comedian and broadcaster, Jon holds a joint degree in Radio, Film and Television and English from Canterbury. Upon graduating Jon had his own show on BBC Radio 4 called Grievous Bodily Radio. He has written for, among others, The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, The Telegraph and magazines including Time Out and The Radio Times. He also has a monthly column - Motormouth - in the Sunday Times.

Tickets are prices £8/£10 and are available buy calling into Sale Waterside Arts Centre box office or by phoning 0161 912 5616.
