Moss Park Action Group reaches new goal
Friends group reaches new goal

Young people will benefit from new sports equipment at Moss Park in Streford, thanks to a generous donation.

Moss Park Action Group received £1000 from the North Trafford Sports Fund to install goal posts and a basketball hoop in the park.

These are now in place and the group hopes that we see a sunny end to the year so that more young people can get out and enjoy them. It is hoped that the installation of the equipment can be followed up by football skill training days in the near future.

Executive Councillor Jonathan Coupe said: “It is fantastic to see the hard work and dedication of friends’ groups like this taking shape for everyone to enjoy. Projects like these really help to boost our parks, which helps to make Trafford a cleaner, greener borough. ”

Residents overlooking the park have already commented how pleasing it was to see the park being used as it was intended and it is hoped that this will be the start of greater respect and use for the fantastic facility that is available.

Jan Tasker, chair of the action group, said: “This is just the beginning, as the group were fortunate enough to get funding from Greening Greater Manchester for some wildflowers and hedgerow planting to make a more pleasant walk around the edge of the park and encourage a greater range of wildlife into the park.”
